Thrust spherical roller bearings
NKE Thrust Spherical Roller Bearings are robust bearings specifically designed to handle exceptional axial loads (loads acting along the shaft axis) even in applications with shaft misalignment. Their unique combination of a spherical roller design and a thrust bearing configuration makes them ideal for demanding industrial environments such as mining equipment, pulp and paper machinery, and marine propulsion systems.
A thrust spherical roller bearing features a single row of spherical rollers positioned between a washer flange on the shaft (inner ring) and a housing flange (outer ring). Unlike deep groove ball bearings which primarily handle radial loads, the spherical design of the rollers allows for self-alignment to accommodate moderate shaft misalignment angles. Additionally, the line contact between the rollers and raceways enables these bearings to handle significantly higher axial loads compared to standard thrust bearings.
